SCEGGS and Grammar cadets of the 306 Squadron participated in the NSW Air Force Cadets Squadrons' Competition held over the long weekend at RAAF Base Richmond. The Competition sections covered military drill, aircraft recognition, service knowledge, fieldcraft and rifle shooting.
Our Squadron's team won the Fieldcraft section of the Competition (consisting of survival, teamwork, navigation and bushcraft). We did this competing against 30 other Squadrons from throughout NSW (with about 400 participants).
Fieldcraft is seen as the most competitive and toughest section of the competition, so this first State-wide win is of special significance for our Squadron. The leadership, knowledge, ability and expertise of Cadet Warrant Officer Zara Soars and Leading Cadet Ella Walters-Adams in particular were vital to this terrific result, which showcases both their abilities and the great training they receive at the School and through their participation in the Squadron.
