Christmas in the Primary School

Congratulations to the team of Primary musicians who performed Christmas carols for the school on Wednesday. It was lovely to hear the angelic voices of Cantare and the orchestra of budding string musicians. Thank you to Mrs Anne Sweeney, Mrs Bronwyn Cleworth, Ms Dominique Gallery, Miss Allison Harrigan and Ms Rachel Valentine for their direction and assistance with this event. A lovely way to end the term with plenty of Christmas cheer!

Festival of Lessons and Carols

Well done to all the students from the Primary and Secondary School who performed in last Thursday evening’s Festival of Lessons and Carols. It was a beautiful ceremony and the musical items really enhanced the occasion.

Congratulations to the following students who performed a solo feature in the ceremony: Emma Kirkland (Pie Jesu), Eva Harris and Scarlett Pearce (Once in Royal David’s City), Madison Au and Alice Wong (Concerto for Violin and Oboe 2nd Movement – Bach).

A special thank you to the Music staff who had worked tirelessly to prepare, accompany and assisted with the performances: Mrs Bronwyn Cleworth, Mrs Alexandra Dalman, Miss Allison Harrigan, Miss Ginger-Rose Harrington, Ms Stephanie Holmes, Mr Kurt Ison, Mr Peter Jewitt, Miss Alice Kotowicz, Mr Heinz Schweers and Mrs Anne Sweeney.

AMEB Results – Certificate of Performance (C. Mus)

Congratulations to Jedda Thorley who achieved her Certificate of Performance (C. Mus) on the Violin. The Certificate of Performance is the bridge that forms between the graded exams and before a student is examined at diploma level. The examination is a recital and requires a student to demonstrate a high level of musicality as well as stamina through a substantial musical program. Well done Jedda!

Vocal Concert – Ms Eloise Evans

Congratulations to the students from Ms Eloise Evans’ studio who performed in the final lunch time concert of the year last Friday 29 November. Thank you to Ms Eloise Evans for her careful preparation of the students’ performances and to Ms Heidi Jones for her accompaniment.

From all of us in the Music Department – we wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. We look forward to sharing many more musical moments with you in 2020!
