Gondwana World Choral Festival
Mighty congratulations to the students who performed in the SCEGGS Choir as part of the Gondwana World Choral Festival in the third week of the school holidays. As one of only three Australian school choirs that were invited to perform, the students were magnificent cultural ambassadors and representatives of SCEGGS Choral program. Our choristers performed at the Sydney Conservatorium and Sydney Opera House alongside many of the world’s leading choirs from France, Estonia, Latvia, France, the USA and China as well as playing host to the famous Inner Mongolian Youth Choir. Thank you so much to the families of the following students who welcomed Inner Mongolian choristers into their homes for a week: Nathalie Wilder, Lily Hallgath-Jolly, Annika Deitz, Mikayla Maher, Maggie-Rose Dunlop, Dakota Kedzier-Hurst, Astrid Girdis, Millie Hughes, Eva Harris, Scarlett Pearce, Jemima Louie Smith and Anna Gesouras. Special thanks to Languages teacher Judith Vrachnas for housing four Mongolians during the festival!

This opportunity and experience would not have been possible without the organisation of Ms Allison Harrigan who has spent many months working alongside Gondwana Choirs to make our participation in this international event possible. Thank you also to music staff Mr Heinz Schweers, Mrs Anne Sweeney, Ms Holmes, Miss Ginger-Rose Harrington and Ms Alice Kotowicz and SCEGGS sound wizard Ms Eddi Goodfellow who accompanied and assisted with this performance.
