The House structure provides a wonderful peer support network and is an important contributing factor to the strong sense of community that exists here at SCEGGS. As the saying goes, “Once a SCEGGS girls, always a SCEGGS girl.”
The House System at SCEGGS has a rich history, being formed in 1926 by Miss Wilkinson (Headmistress, 1921-1947) to help generate school spirit and sporting enthusiasm, encourage good conduct and to provide leadership opportunities. From House Families in the Primary School through to the House competitions in the Secondary School, the House system provides a sense of belonging for each girl and a joyfulness of spirit.
