There are a range of opportunities available to girls, primarily in the Secondary School, at different times through their educational journey. These include language and cultural exchange experiences with sister schools in countries such as England and France, discipline specific overseas tours that enhance work in the classroom such as History tours to Germany and Italy, Social Sciences tours to China or Science trips to NASA.
The table below provides preliminary information about the global opportunities planned for secondary students in different year groups over the next three years. Each opportunity will not be confirmed until closer to the date, depending on the level of student interest, travel and health/safety warnings, visa arrangements and other important travel considerations.
Expressions of interest usually open approximately 12 months prior to the planned trip.
Please note:
*All trips and tours planned for 2026 onwards are only tentative at this stage and are yet to be finalised. We will confirm these based on levels of student interest as well as the health, safety and travel warnings much closer to the time, so please use this table as a guide only.

During Term time and on weekends other trips include excursions such as the annual Year 10 – 11 Visual Arts Camp to Bundanon, usually held on a weekend in early Term 3, and a 3-day Drama trip to Melbourne.
There is also an annual French Exchange Program for Year 10 students, with students from Lyon. Students who are selected for this program host a French exchange student in the middle of the year for 6 weeks, and then travel to France for 6 weeks in the December/January school holidays in a reciprocal arrangement.
For further information, please contact the relevant Head of Department or your daughter’s Year Coordinator who will be able to put you in touch with the appropriate coordinator for each experience.
Cultural experiences
Additionally, we provide the opportunity for girls to participate in international community service projects in countries like Cambodia. These are just a few of the global opportunities that have been experienced in recent years by SCEGGS students.
