SCEGGS is required to take part in the new nationally consistent collection of data on school students with disability project. The Project is aimed at providing all Australian schools, education authorities and the community with a clear picture of the number of students with disability in schools and the adjustments they require to enable them to participate in education on the same basis as other students.
Data supplied to the Australian Government only includes the total number of students receiving adjustments, the level of adjustment and the type of disability. No student name or identifying information is included in the collection process.
How will the data be used?
The Australian Government Department of Education will use the information collected for the purposes of preparing reports for briefing Education Ministers. It may also be used to inform policy development for future funding and other policy requirements.
Involvement in the Project is optional
If you do not want your daughter to be counted in the collection you can ‘opt-out’ by completing and returning the opt-out form to the Primary Office or General Office by Thursday 9 August.
If you have any questions about the 2018 data collection please contact Liz Cumming, Head of Primary, or Andrew Gallagher, Director of Curriculum.
