School Counsellor (K-7)

Applications are invited from experienced School Counsellors/Psychologists interested in a permanent position at SCEGGS beginning in 2020. Ideally a full-time position, a part-time role may be considered for a preferred applicant.
The successful applicant will have expertise and experience working with young children and adolescents (aged 5-14 years old) in the provision of counselling support. They will have relevant qualifications in counselling, be able to work effectively with students and their families, able to develop a significant rapport with students, and demonstrate a deep understanding of the emotional and social needs of children.

The successful applicant will enjoy working in a collaborative, team-based environment to develop school-based support plans for individual students, working co-operatively with the school leadership team, welfare and pastoral care staff and classroom teachers. They will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, well-developed organisational skills and the ability to maintain positive working relationships with welfare agency personnel, health professionals and other service providers. Experience and evidence of working in an educational setting, especially with students from K-7, would be an advantage.

They will also be committed to the full life of the School and supportive of its Christian ethos.
