SCEGGS DARLINGHURST

Primary Teacher-Librarian

SCEGGS provides a stimulating teaching environment where staff are valued and have the opportunity to work with motivated students in an innovative workplace.

A permanent, full-time position is available in our Primary School for a suitably qualified and experienced Primary Teacher-Librarian from the beginning of 2020.

The successful applicant will be an outstanding educator, passionate and enthusiastic about the important role the library has in the school. They will have a love of both literature and children, and the ability to inspire children to want to read. They will also be excellent classroom practitioners and knowledgeable about K–6 curriculum, able to work closely with teachers, supporting them in enhancing teaching and learning in classrooms, regularly team-teaching. They will be competent and excited users of ICT, embedding digital learning in both the library and classrooms. They will oversee all aspects of the Primary School Library, making it a vibrant and welcoming space, and will ensure its effective day to day running. Overseeing classroom libraries and resources is another important aspect of the role. Familiarity with the Oliver library management system would be an advantage, but not essential.
