Congratulations to our Year 11 Senior and Year 9 Junior Archdale Debating teams who each one their Grand Finals. Year 11 were affirmative on the topic “that, as a feminist parent, we would send our daughter to an all-girls school rather than a comparable co-ed school.” The Senior division of Archdale includes both Year 11 and Year 12 debaters, so it was particularly impressive for our team of Year 11s to win this division. Year 9 were also affirmative on the topic “that we regret the notion of a ‘dream job’.” SCEGGS was one of two schools to have three teams in the Grand Final, achieving second in the overall Archdale Shield.

Congratulations to Aurelia Cortese in Year 11 who was awarded a Highly Commended in the Waverley Woollahra 9×5 Landscape Prize. This is an amazing accolade for Aurelia as this Art Prize is open to participants aged 16 years and over with many established adult entrants vying for recognition.
